Solarium

Aristotle once said, “The soul never thinks without a mental picture.” Using 50 photographic images and five simple questions, the new conversational evangelism tool, Soularium, allows a person to engage in spiritual dialogue with others.

“It makes sharing the gospel so easy,” says Rachel Meekins, a student who used Soularium on the Myrtle Beach Summer Project. She and a friend asked a group of women to choose a photo that represented their image of God. This led to more discussion. One selected a photo and said, “If I went to heaven, I think it would look like this.” At this point, they transitioned into the gospel.

The images often reveal openings in apparently closed doors. One staff member asked a professing atheist, “When you think about your spiritual life or journey, which image best represents what you wish were true?” He selected a pay phone encased in a solid black background and said, “I’d like to think there’s someone out there to call, someone to count on.”

Soularium’s adaptability allows it to be used with anyone. It asks exploring questions like, “Which 3 images would you choose to describe your life right now?” and “Which 3 images represent what you WISH were a part of your life right now?”
